Following an incident at a nearby restaurant, Cuban-American actor William Levy was detained in Weston, Florida, on April 14, 2025, evening. Levy, 44, is accused of two misdemeanours: trespassing on owned property and disorderly drunkenness in a public place. Taken into custody, he was lodged in the Broward County Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale, where he is now awaiting a court appearance.
Reports state that the incident started when Levy invited over 100 customers to a big party at the restaurant and provided beverages. He supposedly refused to pay the large amount, which resulted in a dispute with the personnel of the restaurant. Levy is said to have pushed someone who tried to help. Levy was kicked out of the restaurant and then tried to get back in to get his phone. This is when the local cops arrested him.
While trespassing on owned property can result in a one-year term under Florida law, disorderly drunkenness is punished by up to 60 days in prison. Both violations fall under misdemeanors. Levy is waiting trial; his bail has been set at $500.
Levy’s first experience with law enforcement was not this arrest. Police have lately attended to many domestic conflicts involving his former partner, actress Elizabeth Gutiérrez, at his house. Gutiérrez specifically claimed in April 2024 that Levy had pushed their daughter following a furious dispute. She has also openly voiced worries about his claimed drug misuse.
